Many garage floors now feature an epoxy coating that prevents liquids and stains from penetrating into the concrete. The coating makes cleaning easy with just a little water and mopping needed. In the winter however, you still have to worry about the situation we wrote about last week of the water freezing on the floor. Fortunately, this page offers an effective solution (literally) for the problem.
Start by sweeping or vacuuming the floor to get rid of loose dirt and debris. Then, mop the floor with a solution of a cup of white vinegar and a cup of water. The vinegar will prevent freezing as long as you use a damp, not soaking, mop. The floor can then air dry with no freezing or residue.
