Is Your Garage Holiday Ready?
The scent of roasting turkey is in the air. Your mother-in-law is in route, and the kids are anxious to play with the new Wii once their cousins arrive. Knowing you’d have a full house for the holidays, you took great pains to dust, pick up the clutter and hide all the miscellaneous junk.
But did you get your garage holiday ready?
What do you mean, “You didn’t think about it”?!
And that you may have even used the garage as your “secret” storage place for all that miscellaneous junk? Don’t you care about garage storage? Garage shelving? Cleaning up your garage?! A total GARAGE MAKEOVER?!
OK, that was probably a bit of an over-reaction. Truth be told, you haven’t actually done anything unusual. Most people don’t think of the garage as part of their show place, even when they’re expecting a house full of holiday guests who will more than likely see the garage at one time or another during their visit.
So, why not turn your garage into a show place?
Here are some tips you can use now to get your garage holiday ready:
- Invest in a high-quality garage storage system. It doesn’t have to be the most expensive on the market, but purchasing a few Garage Shelves and storage containers will give you a place to hide sports equipment, tools and all that miscellaneous overflow junk that’s found its way out from the house.
- Consider sprucing the garage up with inexpensive garage flooring. Inexpensive garage flooring doesn’t necessarily mean Cheap Garage Flooring; but you don’t have to spend a ton of money to get quality. Roll out PVC flooring can really make a garage look top-notch; for higher end projects, PVC tiles and Epoxy flooring go a long way in creating those designer-looks seen in home renovation magazines.
- Don’t be afraid to toss junk. A garage makeover starts with the garbage can. Go through all those boxes and throw out or donate the things you no longer use. Maternity clothes, baby toys, childhood memorabilia and “I’m going to use this one day” items unnecessarily clutter garages. Get rid of garage clutter fast by engaging in just a little housekeeping!
- Hang bicycles, yard tools and bulky sports equipment to clear floor space. Hooks are part of your Garage Storage System, so don’t be afraid to use ’em!
The results of a newly cleaned, freshly cleared garage will amaze you and your guests. With minimal effort, you can add another room to your showplace. Make it a better space for a better life. Turn your garage into a comfort zone where the whole gang can play cards and watch the big game–or at least get into the house without tripping over your old varsity hockey stick and days-old newspapers. Happy holidays!
