Did you know that you are just 7 steps away from the garage of your dreams? It’s true. So let’s dive right in…
1. Getting Ready: Before you jump right into things, it is important to be prepared. So you will need to arm yourself. Gather heavy-duty trash bags, cardboard boxes, a marker to label those boxes, packing tape, and whatever else you can think of!
2. Sort and Purge: Make three piles. The first is for things to keep, the next is things to give away, and the last is for things to throw out.
3. Purge Some More: Odds are that after you sort through your clutter, your pile of things to keep may still be a little larger than you want. So go back through and purge some more!
4. Designate Storage Areas: Now that you know what items you are keeping and what you are getting rid of, designate storage areas for those items. If you don’t have enough room for everything, feel free to purge again…
5. Donate and Throw Away: Now it is time to do something with those other two piles. The Salvation Army (salvationarmy.org) and Goodwill (goodwill.org) accept many types of goods and in a lot of areas will pick up donations. For other groups that may benefit from your donations, visit guidestar.org.
6. Time to Clean: Has your garage ever been this clean before? I didn’t think so. Now would be a great time to clean up!
7. Seek Professional Help: TLC Garage Works can provide you what you need. Whether it is a complete garage makeover, a garage remodel, a new garage floor, better garage storage organization, new garage cabinets or garage shelving, TLC Garage Works, Inc has the right garage organization solutions for you.

Have you ever thought about installing a basement home theater? If yes, we are here to tell you about the benefits of installing a basement home theater and provide you some great ideas to get started on creating your very own basement home theater.
The basement is the perfect place for a home theater. It does not have much natural light and the basement is not subjected to large amounts of noise because it is further away from the rest of the home. The basement is also the least of rooms to be used, so it is prefect for remodeling to use for your leisure.
A home theater will improve the value of your home and help you sell a home quick (if you ever decide to move from your beloved home).
Why is the Basement a Perfect Space for a Home Theater?
Basements are usually made with concrete material. Concrete is not great for sound, so when you decide to make a basement the location of your home theater, cover the concrete floor with carpet. Carpet will absorb sound and not bounce sound. You can cover the concrete wall with wood panels or sheet rock to absorb more sound.
Remember to never use glass on the walls of your basement home theater because the basement will repel sound. You have to have a balance between absorbed sound and repealed sound.
Where To Install the Speakers of Your Home Theater
Never install speakers on your basement ceiling. Install speakers on the sidewalls and back walls of your basement.
How To Budget Your Project
When estimating the full cost of your project, make sure you add in the cost of buying a flat screen system. Comfort, sound, and picture are what matters the most in a basement home theater.
If you have any questions or would like professional storage areas installed, please contact TLC Garage Works by calling 888-742-5852 or click here today!

Now that the holiday season is over, it is time to store your Christmas Decorations. We are here to help you properly, easily, and quickly store your Christmas Decorations with 5 tips on storing decorations. Read below to get started.
Storing Holiday Linens
A great way to store your Christmas linens ,while protecting them from moisture damage, is to put them in a suitcase. If you do not have a suitcase, you can keep your Christmas Linens on a shelf inside a closet. You also keep them smelling fresh by placing scented dryer sheets between the linens. The dryer sheets will keep moths away and keep the linens smelling great.
Storing Christmas Wreaths
Store your wreaths in something that will preserve the shape for the year. You can buy a box made to store wreaths to preserve the shape.
Storing Christmas Trees
Contrary to the popular belief that the best storing for an artificial tree is repacking it in the box it came out of, you can preserve your Christmas tree better with a Christmas tree bag. The cardboard box a Christmas tree usually comes from can deteriorate the tree and attract insects to infest it.
Storing Holiday Ornaments
Store your ornaments in the same boxes they were purchased. If you no longer have these boxes, store the ornaments in an egg carton.
Storing Holiday Candles
When storing candles, wrap your candles in old socks or knee-high stockings. Socks or knee-high stockings will protect your candles from scratches. Do not store candles near heat to prevent melting.

Are you looking for an area in your home to serve as an office space? If yes, try making an office in your garage. We have a few tips for you to get started. Read below.
The majority of homes with a garage have a tandem garage. A tandem garage usually has extra space for two cars to be parked one after another. If you do not need all that extra space, then this space for another car is perfect to construct an office in your garage.
Why Create An Office In Your Garage?
It is a great idea to make an office in your garage because you are more likely to be productive in your garage due to the quiet atmosphere that the main house area will never allow.
How To Make Your Office Space In Your Garage
You can create your garage office by putting up a wall or barrier of some sort that will separate your vehicles from your office space. This will minimize distractions and give you the privacy you need to get work done.
Add electrical outlets or have a suitable extension chord to provide you with the necessary electricity for a phone, computer, printer or any electronic device you will need. Be sure you have efficient heating and cooling in your garage office. A great way to do this is by having a portable heater and air condition. Be sure you have good insulation installed on your garage walls and have a tight seal on your garage door.
If you have any questions or would like a professionally organized garage, please contact TLC Garage Works by calling 888-742-5852 or click here today!

Instead of just throwing your Christmas decorations into a pile in your garage, take a little more time and care this January and make sure your wreaths, ornaments, Christmas trees, and other decorations are not only stored safely, but are also organized. To help, we at TLC Garage Works Inc. have compiled a list of Christmas decoration storage tips. They include:
Storing Christmas Linens: Storing your linens, towels, rugs and blankets in a suitcase is the best way to protect them from moisture and ensure they look just as cheerful next Christmas!
Storing Christmas Wreaths: Be sure to store your wreath in a large enough container. The worst thing you can do is cram a wreath into a box it doesn’t fit in. This will cause it to lose its shape.
Storing Christmas Trees: While it may seem like a good idea, storing your artificial Christmas tree in the same box it came in is actually not a good plan. Cardboard boxes deteriorate, making them prone to insect infestations. Instead, consider Christmas tree bag or Christmas tree box.
Storing Christmas Ornaments: Larger and more delicate ornaments should be stored in the box that they came in. Smaller ornaments can be organized and stored in egg cartons.
Storing Christmas Candles: The best way to store candles is to wrap them each in a sock to prevent scratching. Also be sure to store them in an area where they will not melt.
Storing Christmas Lights: Organizing Christmas lights before you pack them is a great way to save time next December. Instead of untangling strands of lights, you will be able to take them out of storage and get right to work decorating your home.
Labeling Your Christmas Decorations: Another great way to save time next year is to properly label boxes and bins this year!
Adding Garage Storage Space: This is where TLC Garage Works can help you to better store and organize your Christmas decorations!

If you are like most American’s your garage probably resembles the aftermath of a tornado or hurricane. Items are carelessly stored, thrown into the garage and forgotten about. But just think of how much useful space you are losing by failing to maintain a clean garage.
How often have you remarked that your home just doesn’t have enough room? Well now is your chance to reclaim your garage and give your home the extra space it needs without having to pay for an expensive home addition. Here are a few tips to help you keep your garage clean:
Remove Oil Stains: This can be done with a cement floor, believe it or not, with any chemical or cleaner. If your garage floor is made of asphalt, your only choice is a detergent cleaner (other chemicals may deteriorate your asphalt flooring).
Remove Dirt and Grime: Use a strong solution of degreaser. Flood the garage and allow it to sit for a few minutes. Then scrub away with a nylon pad and use a squeegee to gather the goop in a puddle. If need be, rinse and repeat.
Make Sure Your Concrete is Dry: Concrete flooring absorbs moisture. So before you wax, paint or mop your concrete, be sure that it is dry by placing a rubber mat on the surface. If moisture doesn’t accumulate under the mat after a few hours, then is is okay to treat your floor.
Organize: The only way to keep your garage clean is to organize your mess. Otherwise, the junk will once again pile up. Get rid of anything you do not need and add additional storage space for your more important items. This is where TLC Garage Works can help.

Are you looking for ways to brighten your garage? If yes, we are here to give you three great garage lighting tips. Read below to learn!
Why should you improve your garage lighting?
You should improve your garage lighting because it increases the value of your home, especially if you have a decent sized and functional garage. The value of your home can go up with lighting because as lighting increases, you increase safety, usability and the aesthetic appeal of your garage. Here is what you should do to give your garage the best lighting you possible can give it:
Placement
Placement of lighting is very important. You should install lights in areas of your garage that require visual accessibility. Good places to install lights would be workbenches or right above your vehicle engine. This makes it easy for you to do minor repairs or to work better on a project. You should consider installing light fixtures with built-in electrical outlets. This is a good idea to install because you can plug in electrical appliances you might need while repairing or working on things in your garage.
Form garage lighting tips such as safety and bulb type, read this article from Ehow.com.

Are you looking to modernize your garage design? If yes, we are here to help by giving you just a few garage design ideas! Read below to find out how to transform your garage into the garage of a rock star.
A modern garage always has extra space and its purpose is to suit your needs. The following tips will help you enhance your garage space:
Choose the Type of Garage
Before you improve space you have to figure out what type of garage you want and how it will serve your needs. You can choose to have a garage that is built to your house or a freestanding garage. Find out how many vehicles you will park in this garage. Are some oversized, such as a boat or camper?
If so, you must choose the best door configuration to fit your needs. You can have a wide overhead door or two smaller ones, if you are aiming for a standard two-car garage. These are the most commonly used options but there are a variety of choices you can make when it comes to doors. Look at the size of a standard door and go from there.
Make a List
What exactly do you want from your garage besides a space for your vehicles? To figure out your wants and needs, make a wish list of everything you want. Do you want storage for your sports equipment? Do you want a place to store gardening supplies? What about a workbench? Figure this out before you make any installments or do any redesigning.
Choose a Door that Stands Out
If you really want to modernize your garage, choose a contemporary door made of glass panels. You can have a see through garage door or you can pick a frosted, dark tinted or pebbled glass for more privacy.
For more modernizing ideas, read this article from Ehow.com.

You have heard it all before; garage conversions can be a great way to add additional living space to your home without having to build a new addition. It sounds great to you, but you just can’t decide what you want your new room to be – a gym, an apartment, a study, a man cave, or maybe even a playroom. The possibilities are endless. How can you choose?
Well first, consider your family’s wants and needs. Of course the needs always outweigh the wants, but if you have no pressing needs for more space then you can turn your garage into whatever you like.
This article from eHow.com provides several interesting garage loft conversion ideas to help you pick out the best option for your home.
Apartment
If you have the extra space and you have no need for an extra room, why not convert your garage into an apartment? As long as you do not mind someone else living in close proximity, this is a great way to add value to your home while also creating additional income.
You will want to ensure the garage loft apartment complies with the building codes of your state. Incorporate a kitchenette and bathroom into the apartment. Renters will want these types of amenities.
Office or Study
Maybe you need a quiet place of your own to complete work or pay bills. Well, why not convert your garage into a nice office/study? . Line the walls with bookshelves, files and a computer desk. This is especially beneficial if you run a business from home. This will make sure that your clients do not need to enter your main home in order to do business with you.
Playroom
As your family continues to grow, space becomes much more congested inside your home. One way to alleviate this and provide your children with a little more room to roam is to convert your garage into a playroom. Paint the walls a cheery color and decorate in a child’s theme. This will ensure that your children’s toys do not clutter your home. Include a small table and chair set, or picnic table in your playroom, as this will provide you place to feed your children lunch and snacks while playing.
Bedroom
If you have a new baby on the way and you have run out of bedrooms, consider turning your unused garage into a nursery or additional bedroom. This will not only give you more living space, but it is also a great way to add value to your home.
